THE PILOT:

Ireland, 1754...

Caleb Rafferty, a cobbler, intends to show his commitment to Daireann Dwyer with a pair of exquisite gold shoe buckles.  However, his older brother, Emmet, a rake by nature, has entangled himself with a clan chief’s betrothed, Muirne Lambert. He has stolen the buckles in an attempt to seduce her. As the pilot opens, Muirne’s younger brother, Oisin, has stumbled upon the couple. Fearing the boy will rat him out, Emmet murders the Oisin right in front of Muirne. Shocked, Muirne pledges her silence to save them both, but discards the gold buckles. Oisin's murder will haunt Emmet and sets off a series of events that will take the brothers into the teeth of war.

Igniting that war is a young militia colonel, 22-year-old George Washington. He inadvertently assassinates a French diplomat sent to negotiate the boundaries between France and England in western Pennsylvania.

Seeking retribution, the French send an army to bring Washington to justice.

On the streets of London, two thieves, Daniel and Margaret, team up to improve their take. That is until Daniel is caught and sentenced to be hanged. Margaret must make one big score to buy his freedom.

All three plots are on a collision course (episode 4) that will take them to the front lines of one of the most violent and vicious wars in human history: the French & Indian War.

Emmet and Caleb will be hunted by the clan chief, Oakley Riagáin. Oakley will discover the buckles. Jealous,  he hangs Muirne to draw Emmet out. In a rage, Emmet kills two clansmen and severely gashes Oakley's face.

Not wanting to wait for Oakley to recover and reform his clan, the brothers join the British army headed for America.

Death does not signify an end. Muirne will haunt both Oakley and Emmet. Oisin will seek vengeance on Emmet (episode 2 and beyond). And all the while, the living will be out to kill them.
